BERLIN, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- RB Leipzig snatched a 3-1 win at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Friday to lead the Bundesliga with perfect record after three rounds.

Germany striker Timo Werner had a hat-trick, opening the scoring against the run of play in the 37th minute and finishing a swift counter-attack early in the second half. Breel Embolo headed an injury-time consolation for the hosts before Werner struck again with the last kick of the game.

Leipzig top the table on a perfect nine points but previous leaders Borussia Dortmund will skip them again with a win at promoted Union Berlin late Saturday.

Gladbach stay seventh but can expect to fall down the table as the weekend progresses. They have not won at home since January.

Leipzig now go into the international break on a high and can begin preparing for the September 14 visit of champions Bayern Munich in confidence.

"I think that by the end it was definitely not undeserved," said Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann. "I thought Gladbach were better in the first 10 minutes but no more."
