KAMPALA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- As the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is set to open on Thursday in Hunan Province of China, Uganda said it will use the opportunity to showcase its agricultural products and attract investors into the country's tourism sector.

Lilly Ajarova, chief executive of Uganda Tourism Board, a government agency charged with promotion of tourism, told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday that they will use the expo to market Uganda's tourism in China. She said they have set up stalls to market different products.

"We hope to give a true Ugandan experience as one of our tactics to increase the number of visitor arrivals in Uganda from China," Ajarova said.

"Furthermore, we want to attract investors in Uganda with focus on tourism," she added.

David Bahati, minister of state for planning, told Xinhua in a recent interview that the government has sent several teams to participate in the expo.

"We organized a number of teams and companies to go and showcase our goods and products. Key among them are our agricultural products such as coffee, tea and beef," Bahati said.

"China is a great trading partner and we cannot afford to miss the opportunity to market what we can potentially export there," the minister added.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is already in China leading a government delegation. Museveni is expected to speak at the opening ceremony of the expo, according to State House here.
