BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Jingchu Culture and Tourism Industry Development Forum has been held recently in Jingzhou City, an ancient city in central China's Hubei Province.

The forum aims to pool the wisdom of scholars and experts for the city's cultural and tourism development.

Jingzhou, with an ancient name "Jiangling", sits in the south-central Hubei Province, and the middle reach of the Yangtze River.

With a history of more than 3,000 years, Jingzhou was among the first batch of 24 state-level famous historic and cultural cities announced by the State Council in 1982.

To better tap the cultural connotation and tourism development potential of the city, scholars and experts at the forum exchanged their views and dished out their advice.

For example, in light of Jingzhou's profound history, they suggested making good use of its cultural resources to fuel the city's economic and civilization development.

The tourism building should be designed in a user-friendly manner, and embody the distinctive regional culture, a master architect offered his suggestions.

In addition, to help Jingzhou gain more popularity among tourists, the intellectual property innovation and creation in the cultural and tourism industry is of great importance, according to the experts.

Differentiation and scarcity of the cultural and tourism IP can offer tourists distinctive tourism products, thus enhancing Jingzhou's "soft power" in the cultural and tourism industry, they said.
